Angolan company honoured at the Awards Gala of the continent’s largest energy conference
Copia Group of Companies, S.A. (CGC) won the Local Content Champion (African Companies) award at the African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 Awards Gala. The award recognises the African companies that contribute most to local content development in the energy sector and places CGC among the top Angolan highlights of the event.
The CGC team took to the stage and celebrated the win with the national flag, a gesture that symbolises the pride of seeing an Angolan company honoured on an international stage. 
National expertise at the heart of the energy future
For Adilson Nelumba, Chairman of the Copia Group, the award confirms the decisive role of African companies in transforming the sector:

A decision-making stage for the continent
Organised by the African Energy Chamber (AEC), African Energy Week is today the leading annual meeting point for Africa’s energy sector. Since its first edition in 2021, the event has pursued a clear mission: to end energy poverty in Africa by 2030.
The conference brings together heads of state, ministers, regulators, international investors and private-sector leaders to set the course for oil, gas, electricity, infrastructure and renewable energy on the continent.
Angola gains scale and recognition
The Local Content Champion award shows that Angola has companies ready to compete and lead at the highest level. By raising the national flag, Copia Group opens doors to new partnerships, new investment and greater international recognition for the country.
